Jay,
Thanks for reading. Sorry you weren't impressed with the story; I did, at least, correct the incorrect date. Since the arbitration decision came out months ago, I didn't think it was timely to go over every inch of it in this story. However, for those who are interested in a more thorough report on Hardy's case, you can find it at www.usada.org under "press" and "arbitration decisions." I also put a link in the story. Thanks again. Amy

From the article-

"Hardy, for the moment, is trying to ignore the lingering uncertainty, and focus on the climb she has made since July 21, 2009, when she found out about the positive test during the U.S. swim team’s pre-Olympic training camp in Palo Alto, Calif."

There were Olympics this year? I must have missed them, along with Hardy.

Shoddy article all around. It doesn't say anything about the substance she supposedly took, other than identifying it as Clenbuterol. Was her supplement tested and if so, the results of that test. Is her steriod actually found in the supplement, or just her own personal cannister. And if she is taking any action against the provider of the supplement. What exactly was the "indemnity provision"? Without any of these results, I conclude she was doping and should be banned.

Thx,

As much as I sympathize for her, I still feel she should get the two-year ban. Kicker Vencill did and he had the same defense. Unfortunately she knew the risks in those supplements and got bitten. But for the sake of clarity in the sport and to avoid high priced lawyers getting dirty athletes off the hook, she needs a full two-year ban.

Her reputation is intact with me.

Phelps knowly smoked "pot" and just got a slap on the hand. Most will say, its only a little "grass". Everyone buys the "weed" helps fund the drug catel where thousand of people get killed every year. Take Mexico and Texas border, they've had a drug war going on for several years that have killed 10,000+ people. So Michael, next time you smoke a little "weed", think about where your money going and what it is doing.
