Hey guys. I just wanted to put a short post up explaining that I have spent most of my day today on a train traveling back to D.C. from New Jersey, where I helped cover the Redskins game last night.
I’m pretty tired and have a few things to work on for my high school football and soccer coverage, and I missed practice this morning at 4:30 a.m. (sniff…sniff), but I just wanted to get something up here letting everyone know what was up.
Tomorrow morning it’ll be back to getting up before the sun, a 3:45 a.m. wake up call, and I’m actually weirdly excited about it. Okay, maybe excited is the wrong word. I feel ready to get back into the pool, though. At some point today I’ll get some dry-land in. I want to work the shoulders out a bit and the abs, try to prepare for whatever Jeff throws at me early in the morning.
Of course, I’m also nervous about doing these 4:30 practices in the middle of a hectic work schedule and, of course, during the winter. But as I sat on the train today, all I could think about was the fact that we are just about a month away from the October Open.
I have to get back to work on a few assignments, but check back here tomorrow to see how my first day back in the indoor pool went.
