However, Mayor Fenty has ordered that the pool be kept long course meters even though USS, High School, & USMS swimming are well into their short course yards season. How does keeping the pool configured for 8 long course lanes vs. 22 short course lanes during short course season aid the DC Wave Swim Team and the rest of the DC community who all would love to be able to enjoy this wonderful facility? He is a huge source of knowledge and is very patient with the kids. He routinely has his younger kids swimming with us in the summer at Hains Point and he really knows his swim strokes, helping both his age group swimmers as well as the masters swimmers.
