Have to disagree with Blue 70. I believe it is a good idea to show that when coaches, kids, or parents act irresponsibly, the county does something about it. Our coaches used this as an example. Our high school swimmers got the message loud and clear. Sure, many kids don't need this message, but some do. Hmm, maybe Michael Phelps could learn a lesson from those kids?

Agree with swim parent..Their have been stories about lacrosse players, basketball and football players engaging in the same behavior so why not swimmers? Kids, athletes all make stupid mistakes and know one group is immune.Kudos to Paul but I dont understand why its not on RTW

It's ok to report about Gilbert and guns, or Tiger and sex, but not the news about the poor decisions made by the Stuart swimmers, coaches and parents about teen drinking? perhaps reading about the loss of swimming privileges will make more parents think about the problems with this kind of behavior. Perhaps it will scare coaches enough to realize they can't condone teen drinking. I say hats off to Paul for getting the story out to the public.

I was very disappointed today when i opened the Washington Post Sports section. Expecting an article on a weekend preview or a districts wrap up, instead there was an article about a swim team lock in alcohol incident. thank you for ruining my day. So many accomplished athletes, smart students, dedicated workers in this amazing sport and instead you decide to report on an alcohol incident at a lock in of a swim team no one cares about? this disgusts me. You just gave the wrong idea of the swimming community to millions of people that read the newspaper everyday. You think football players don't get drunk at parties all the time? Im sure they do, but we dont hear about it in a prominent newspaper. Who cares what the JEB stuart team is doing! you hurt all of us by publishing this article. disgrace.

The WMPSSDL swimming competition will not be held this weekend at GMU. It will be rescheduled, probably as timed finals sessions sometime next week.
