Chuck Katis of Highlands swam as fast as anyone this summer. He was one of five boys to post a pair of area-bests this summer.

Katis, who also swam the second leg of Langley High’s 200 medley relay team that set a national short-course record (1:45.38) at the Virginia AAA championships, swam the 50 breast in 29.50 seconds and the 100 individual medley in 58.72 seconds.

Here are the rest of the area’s top boys’ performances this summer:

14u 50 back: Lucas Cherry, Lee-Graham (28.63); 14u 50 breast: Joel Desatnick, Hayfield Farm (31.68); 14u 50 fly: Andrew Valentine, Potomac Woods (27.22); 14u 50 free: Alex Wu, Woodcliffe (25.45); 14u 100 IM: Harrison Gu, Rockville (1:02.58).

12u 50 back: John Jeang, Rockville and Christopher Murphy, McLean (30.54); 12u 50 breast: Dennis Lai, Armfield Farm (35.59); 12u 50 fly: Murphy (29.74); 12u 50 free: Adrian Lin, Potomac (26.91); 12u 100 IM: Lai (1:08.58).

10u 25 back: Robert Qian, Germantown (16.87); 10u 50 back: Jonathan Day, Overlee (36.37); 10u 25 breast: Joseph Howley, Potomac Woods (17.94); 10u 50 breast: Duncan Green, Chesterbrook (41.79); 10u 25 fly: Timothy Ellett, Tilden Woods (15.29); 10u 25 free: Kyle Johnson, Manor (15.44); 10u 50 free: Ellett (30.91); 10u 100 IM: Prestin Williamson, Brookside (1:19.15).

  2. and, where are the 15-18 results for 50 back and 50 breast? only one league swims the 100s of stokes……
