The most impressive summer performance on the girls’ side came from Janet Hu of Mosby Woods, who had the top time in four of the five 14-and-under events: 50 back (29.75), 50 fly (29.09), 50 free (26.00) and 100 IM (1:04.19). Only Brooke Malone of Crosspointe in the 50 breast (34.81) kept Hu from a clean sweep.
Also impressive was Megan Sharkey of Potomac Woods, who posted three of the fastest times for 8-and-under swimmers: 25 back (19.11), 25 fly (16.96) and 25 free (15.48). Rebecca Huang of King Farm had the fastest 8u 25 breast (21.86). Shelby Cleal of the Burke Centre Penguins had the fastest 8u 100 IM (1:38.21)
In 10u girls, Cassidy Bayer of Mount Vernon Park had the fastest 50 back (35.04) and 25 fly (14.74). Isabella Rongione of McLean had the fastest 50 free (29.78) and 100 IM (1:13.83). Other top times were Samantha Ferguson of Woodley Gardens in the 25 breast (19.78), Jacqueline Clabeaux of Greenbriar in the 50 breast (37.50), Emily Wang of Upper County in the 25 back (16.29) and Eileen Dinn of Argyle in the 25 free (15.25).
Hannah Baker of Commonwealth posted two top times for 12u, in the 100 IM (1:10.09) and 50 free (28.00). Other top 12u times were: Elaina Gu of Rockville in the 50 back (32.24), Kelsy Song of Woodcliffe in the 50 breast (36.72) and Carrie Heilbrun of Crosspointe in the 50 fly (31.91).
Elizabeth Hall of Poplar Tree was the only 18u to post multiple top times, in the 50 back (30.07) and 50 fly (28.26). Other top 18u times were: Kaitlin Mills of Potomac Woods in the 100 back (1:04.34), Natalie Leake of Lee-Graham in the 50 breast (33.72), Sarah Haase of Flower Valley in the 100 breast (1:12.16), Abigail Speers of Hamlet in the 50 free (26.91), Caitlin Lucas of Bolling in the 100 free (51.56) and Kaitlin Pawlowicz of Hunter Mill in the 100 IM (1:05.71).
