The early period for swimmers to sign National Letters of Intent ended last Wednesday, Nov. 16, and swimmers from the D.C., Maryland, and northern Virginia areas will be well represented among the countries elite swimming and diving programs.

Last year’s All-Met Girl’s Swimmer of the Year, Sarah Haase, signed to swim for the seventh-ranked Stanford University women’s team. The Good Counsel senior is the number two ranked high school swimmer in Maryland, according to CollegeSwimming.com. She swims year-round at Rockville-Montgomery Swim Club.
Each of the girls affected by the University of Maryland's decision to cut their swimming and diving teams have signed with another program. Natalya Ares, Churchill, signed with the University of Richmond, Ellen Anderson, Gaithersburg, signed with Northwestern University, and Morgan Whyte, St. John’s, signed with the University of Delaware.
