By Bryan Flaherty

California collected another 179 points on day two at the NCAA women’s swimming and diving championships. Cal took a 311 to 247 point lead over the Georgia Bulldogs — last year’s NCAA runner-up — on a night when four American records toppled.

George Mason’s Ashley Danner (Lake Braddock/Mason Makos) finished second in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 59.02. The event was won by Breeja Larson (Texas A&M) in a new American record of 57.71.
