Katie Ledecky shatters world record to lead Team USA to three golds on day 3 [gallery]

They say it’s hard to bounce back after winning Olympic gold. No one told the the U.S. team competing this week in Barcelona. Olympic champions Katie Ledecky, Missy Franklin, and Matt Grevers all took home world championship titles on Tuesday night before a sellout crowd at the Sant Jordi arena.

Ledecky, the 2012-2013 All-Met Swimmer of the Year, won the women’s 1,500-meter freestyle in a world record time of 15 minutes 36.53 seconds — a full six seconds under 2005-2006 All-Met SOY Kate Ziegler’s world record, set in 2007. Franklin and Grevers won the women’s and men’s 100 backstroke, respectively. Full story here
