Gonzaga captured its third consecutive Washington Metropolitan Prep School Swim and Dive League title while the Holton-Arms girls narrowly edged Good Counsel.
Area standouts Holly Jansen, Jacqueline Clabeaux, Hannah Lindsey and Caroline McTaggart impressed at the 2012 Winter Classic in Fairfax, Va.

Jack Conger finished his first U.S. Olympic Trials strong with a top five finish in the men’s 200 backstroke.
On the final day at NCSA Junior Nationals, all the usual suspects could be found in the top heats, performing as they had all week. Katie Ledecky and Jack Conger earned the female and male performance of the meet awards.
Katie Ledecky notched her third win of the meet in Orlando, as did Jack Conger, in the second to last day of competition at NCSA Junior Nationals.

Gonzaga enters this week’s championship meets as one of the hottest teams in the area, coming off wins at the National Catholic and WMPSSDL championship meets. They will be tested this weekend at the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Swimming & Diving Championship. The Metros finals are Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Germantown Indoor Swim Center, where the best teams from Montgomery County, WMPSSDL, and DCIAA come together for one of the best collections of high school talent in on the East Coast.
