Virginia’s private school state championships has steadily become a fast meet.
For the first time this season the top six in our poll all won.
Georgetown Prep solidified its place atop the rankings with a convincing win over then-No. 2 Gonzaga during a week with few surprises.
The top five schools remain intact, but four new teams make their debuts in the rankings after a tumultuous two-week stretch.
High school times are hard to find, but here is a breakdown of how the area’s high school swimmers rank based on their club swimming times.
Georgetown Prep retains its No. 1 position, as Gonzaga, Oakton move up after two-time Virginia state champion Robinson fell. Poolesville, W.T. Woodson, St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes also make their first appearances in the rankings.

The Washington Metropolitan Prep School Swim and Dive League boys’ swimming championship was held Wednesday evening at Georgetown Prep after the snow delayed the meet several times. In a back-and-forth affair, Georgetown Prep distanced itself late from rival Gonzaga to claim the win with 437 points, ahead of the Eagles 399.5 and DeMatha’s 376. FULL RESULTS ATTACHED!
