Former All-Met and Olympian Kate Ziegler is seeded first in several events for this weekend’s PVS Senior Short Course Championships held at George Mason, and in some races might go up against some of the area’s top young swimmers. Five local swimmers qualified for the men’s NCAA swim championships, check out their seeds for the meet. Former All-Met Swimmer of the Year Eric Friedland is seeded third in the 200 breaststroke. Also, prepping for NCSA junior champs.

Snow could have lasting effect on swimmers

With the major snowstorms in the rear view mirror and all winter sports preparing for a hectic championship season, swimmers — perhaps more than any other sport — face a major challenge to recover from a week-long hiatus from the pool in order to be ready for the year-end meets.

Northern Region girls get swims in before storm

Northern Region girls’ swimming prelims were run as timed finals, and though there is an outside chance a finals may be held next week it is more likely these are the final region results. Also, an update on boys’ swimming and girls’ diving. RESULTS ATTACHED!

Madison’s boys’ and girls’ teams took home titles in the Liberty District, W.T. Woodson’s boys’ and girls’ earned championships in the Patriot and the Oakton boys and Robinson girls won titles in the Concorde in meets around the area. FULL RESULTS INSIDE!!
